A whole lotta life has happened since my last post. The past couple of months I’ve been working my tuckus off rehabbing a cute little house that is near and dear to my heart. When my dad started talking about moving out of his house of 35 years, my hubby and I started dreaming of buying it and someday building on the lot. Well, the first part of the dream came to fruition. We bought the place and since then, we've been scrubbing, scraping, sanding and painting our way through every nook-and-cranny of the house. And I gotta say, I think it looks pretty darn good!
Now that the house is ready for inhabitants, we decided to rent the place until we are ready to make a move. We were fortunate enough to find the cutest couple to rent from us. Just six days into our stent with being landlords...so far, so good.
In the middle of all the house rehabbing, my hubs and I took a trip to Napa California for our anniversary. We had this trip planned long before the house rehab was even a thought in our minds. The timing of the trip ended up being somewhat serendipitous as we were both due for a much needed break. We had a fabulous time, taking in the beautiful scenery while sipping on remarkable wines from the region.
The food on the Napa Valley Wine Train is superb! And the pics below are a few of the eateries we enjoyed. Morimoto was certainly the tops!
Now that the house is rented, we are back in town, and I have had a few moments to get settled back into life, I am super happy to return to the kitchen. I’ve created a couple of tasty recipes that I can’t wait to share with you in the next couple of days, so I hope you will stop back by!
